The beaches south of Main Beach

Gokarna’s coastline continues south from Main Beach into a sequence of bays and coves — Kudle, Om, Half Moon and Paradise. Each has a different shape, access and mood. Plan the link between them before you start, because walking versus boat access changes with the season and the sea.

Closest bay

Kudle Beach

A wide, bay-shaped sandy beach south of Main Beach. Access depends on the route, walking/road conditions and season. Good for a longer sandy walk and sunset views.

Famous shape

Om Beach

Known for the two curved bays that look like the symbol “Om” from above. A popular spot to see Gokarna’s coastline shape; access and crowds vary by season.

Quiet cove

Half Moon Beach

A smaller cove reached by walk or boat depending on the season and trail safety. Don’t assume access during the monsoon or rough-sea days.

Farthest cove

Paradise Beach

Farther south; usually reached by a longer walk or boat from Om/Half Moon. Plan return transport in daylight; remote coves have little help nearby.

How the beaches connect

Walk: trails link the bays along the cliffs; some sections are steep or slippery. Wear proper footwear; avoid after dark or in rain.

Boat: local boats connect Om / Half Moon / Paradise in suitable sea conditions. Agree the fare and return time before boarding; sea state can change.

Road: some beaches have a road approach; others do not. Don’t assume a vehicle can reach the sand — combine with a short walk.
